Finksburg Baseball or Softball Scholarship
About the scholarship
In 2019, Finksburg Baseball and Softball began a scholarship program offering one or two scholarships for graduating seniors who have participated in our program at any level. We have set up funding to be awarded each year, generated primarily by donations from our Lions Travel Players. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are proud to offer a scholarship for 2025 for $1,200. We want to thank the Roaring Run Lions Club for their support with the implementation of this program.
If you are a graduating high school senior and a current or former player, please review the attached criteria and application. We are very proud of our players and look forward to them advancing after high school. Please spread the word to any seniors involved in any form of Finksburg Baseball or Lady Lions Softball. If you'd like to make a tax-exempt donation specifically to this fund, contact us here.
DUE DATE FOR APPLICATION IS MAY 1st.

2025 Finksburg Baseball & Softball Scholarships
For 2025, we have selected 2 players to receive scholarships from Finksburg Baseball.
Garrett Denkenberger is still playing on our 17+ travel team as a pitcher/second baseman. Garrett graduated from Westminster High School, where he played four years of baseball. He maintained a 3.44 GPA and earned Honor Roll recognition every semester. In his senior year, he was named First Team All-Conference and All-County for the 2025 season. This fall, Garrett will continue his academic and athletic career at Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA, where he plans to major in Sports Management and Finance while playing college baseball. Garrett has played with Finksburg since he was 12 and has been involved in a wide variety of volunteer work with our program. He considers his 12u trip to Cooperstown and his team winning the Sports at the Beach tournament last summer as some of his most memorable moments with the program.
Patrick Scott is also still playing on our 17+ travel team as a First Baseman. Patrick graduated from Winters Mill High School with a 4.6 GPA, and played 4 years of baseball, finishing with an All-County Honorable Mention in 2025. Patrick is headed to the University of MD to study Aerospace Engineering. He has played in the Finksburg Program for 4 years and counts winning Sports at the Beach in 2024 as one of his favorite moments. He has also done a huge volume of volunteer work for the program.
