Finksburg Baseball or Softball Scholarship

About the scholarship

In 2019, Finksburg Baseball and Softball began a scholarship program offering one or two scholarships for graduating seniors who have participated in our program at any level. We have set up funding to be awarded each year, generated primarily by donations from our Lions Travel Players. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are proud to offer a scholarship for 2026 for $3,500. We want to thank the Roaring Run Lions Club for their support with the implementation of this program.

If you are a graduating high school senior and a current or former player, please review the attached criteria and application. We are very proud of our players and look forward to them advancing after high school. Please spread the word to any seniors involved in any form of Finksburg Baseball or Lady Lions Softball. If you'd like to make a tax-exempt donation specifically to this fund, contact us here.

2025 Finksburg Baseball & Softball Scholarships

For 2026, we have selected 2 players to receive scholarships from Finksburg Baseball and Softball.

Aiden Jones

Aidan has been part of the Finksburg Baseball and Softball program for 13 years, and the league has played an important role in shaping the person he is today. Even now, he remains involved on the field as a player on our 17+ Baseball team, a reflection of his lasting love for the game and the program. Over the years, baseball has given him much more than time on the field—it has taught him valuable lessons about perseverance, accountability, teamwork, and how to respond when things do not go as planned. Through the game, Aidan learned how to work through mistakes, stay resilient under pressure, and continue moving forward with confidence and determination.

One of Aidan’s favorite memories with Finksburg Baseball and Softball was traveling to Myrtle Beach and sharing that experience with his teammates while playing the game he loves. Moments like that reflect what makes the league so special—not only the competition, but also the friendships, memories, and personal growth that come with being part of a team. Aidan’s success extends well beyond the field. He is graduating from Westminster High School, where he played baseball for the Owls for two years, and with an impressive 4.11 GPA, he has demonstrated the same focus, discipline, and commitment in the classroom that he has shown throughout his years in the program. This fall, he will attend Carroll Community College, where he plans to pursue a path in video production. Finksburg Baseball and Softball is proud to recognize Aidan as one of this year’s scholarship winners and celebrates all that he has accomplished. We are excited to see what the future holds for him and wish him every success as he begins this next chapter.

Eli Barbe

Eli will attend Stevenson University, where he plans to study Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics. A dedicated member of the Finksburg Baseball and Softball community, Eli played in the program during the 2025 and 2026 seasons and has also served as an umpire since 2022. His favorite baseball memory is hitting a double off the fence during his junior year when his team was trailing 4-2, a moment that reflects both his competitive spirit and love of the game. Eli is graduating from Winters Mill High School, where he played baseball for one year, and has excelled in the classroom with an outstanding 4.48 GPA. He has also demonstrated an exceptional commitment to service, contributing 339 service hours. Finksburg Baseball and Softball is proud to recognize Eli as a scholarship winner and congratulates him on all he has accomplished. We wish him continued success as he begins this exciting next chapter.
