Finksburg Baseball or Softball Scholarship
About the scholarship
We are proud that since 2019, Finksburg Baseball and Softball began a scholarship program offering one or two scholarships for graduating seniors who have participated in our program, at any level. We have set up funding for $1,100 to be awarded each year, generated primarily by donations from our Lions Travel Players. The scholarship fund has increased since its inception due to the generosity of our community. We would like to thank the Roaring Run Lions Club for their support with the implementation.
If you are a graduating high school senior and a current or former player, please review the attached criteria and application. We are very proud of our players and look forward to seeing them advance after high school. Please spread the word to any seniors who have been involved in any form of Finksburg Baseball or Lady Lions Softball. If you'd like to make a tax-exempt donation specifically to this fund, contact us here.

2022 Finksburg Baseball & Softball Scholarships
We are proud to announce that our 2022 scholarship has been awarded to James George who currently plays ball on our Varsity Travel team, and played ball this year for Westminster High School. Here is a little information about our recipient in his own words:
"I started playing baseball at 5 years old and it quickly became a passion of mine. I continued this passion throughout the years and then joined the Finksburg Lions travel team at the age of 13. When I first joined this team, the players and coaches were very welcoming and soon became like brothers to me. All of the practices and games throughout the years with Finksburg helped me play for the WHS baseball team for 4 years. While I enjoyed all the experiences with Finksburg, my favorite memory was the holiday parties, where there were lots of laughs and games with the team. I am sad my time with the Finksburg Lions will be ending soon as I head off to Slippery Rock University in PA. My major is Exercise Science as I one day hope to become a Physical Therapist. I would like to thank the Finksburg Lions baseball program for this scholarship and the great opportunities beyond. I would also like to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for all of their support throughout the years."
